The capacity of a battery is measured in amp-hours (Ah) and determines how much energy the battery can store. The higher the Ah rating, the longer the battery will last. A 48V ebike battery typically has a capacity of 10Ah to 20Ah, but some models can have a capacity of up to 30Ah.
To ensure that ratings are given in a realistic way, lead-acid batteries have a few parameters on how they get that "AH" rating. In order to get an AH rating, the battery that is being tested has to be drained down to 0 over the course of a specified amount of time.

The lead-acid cell can be demonstrated using sheet lead plates for the two electrodes. However, such a construction produces only around one ampere for roughly postcard-sized plates, and for only a few minutes. Gaston Planté found a way to provide a much larger effective surface area. In Planté''s design, the positive and negative plates were formed of two spirals of …

LiFePO4 vs. Lead Acid: Which One Is Right for You?
Safety, cycle life, and price are the priority issues that everyone will consider before buying a battery. LiFePO4 is the right choice. Batteries are widely used in our lives as energy storage devices. The market''s most popular batteries can be divided into Lead-acid and
A 12V battery is a lead-acid battery that is commonly used to power vehicles and boats. It has a nominal voltage of 12 volts and is rechargeable. On the other hand, a 12V AGM battery is also a lead-acid battery, but it uses Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) technology to hold the electrolyte in place.
Typical discharge curves for lead–acid traction batteries at varying rates are shown in Figure 13.5 is immediately apparent that the realizable capacity is strongly dependent on the rate of discharge, e.g., the capacity obtained from a very high-rate discharge (30 min) is only a fraction of that from a 10-h discharge. ...
